Kennewick First Lutheran Invites Your Help in Overseas Relief and Missions
KRISTI WAGNILD OVERSEAS OUTREACH PROJECT
The Kristi Wagnild Overseas Outreach project was passed by resolution at the January 30, 2004 Annual Meeting in memory of Kristi.
Kristi joined the congregation in September 1980. She was a member of the Choir, Altar Guild, Worship & Music Committee, Church Council, and was Coordinator for Search Bible Study. She also served on the Pastor Call Committee and Staff Support.
Kristi shared the enthusiasm, energy and experiences of her Montana church's overseas missions. In Kristi's memory, the overseas mission efforts of First Lutheran are named after her.
DONATIONS
A donation of $400 has been made to China Service Ventures for 1-year scholarships for eight students.
A contribution of $400 was made to the Massai Girls Scholarship Fund through Concordia College. This benefits Maasai girls in Tanzania, a cause that Kristi supported by selling Tanzania Fair Trade coffee.
A $200 donation was made to India Partners a ministry to 1500 children in India. This organization was featured on the cover of The Lutheran , February 2006.
FAIR TRADE SALES at the Synod Assembly at Pasco will provide 7513 bricks for the School Building Project in Tanzania.
FAIR TRADE
Fair trade products are available in the Fellowship Hall after services. Coffee, chocolate, jewelry and other gift items from around the globe are puchased through co-ops and other sources that put more of the profits into the hands of those producing the goods. Our portion of the profits go towards supporting the Kristi Wagnild Overseas Outreach. Currently we are supporting China Service Ventures, Masai Girls School, and the Heifer Project.
